Yolanda Nunn, Ph.D.
  It has been my honor and
privilege to serve as the Chair of the Board of the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of
California. When I began my tenure I dedicated myself to preparing the organization for
the opportunities and challenges that faced us.
As I reflect on our past I see that we have been successful in setting the
organization’s direction through strategic planning and organizational development.
We have assessed our client needs and developed programs and services to assist them in
accessing and receiving culturally sensitive and appropriate care.
As we look toward our future, I am excited about the possibility of growing into the
statewide organization we have envisioned. Our efforts will be focused on becoming a
leader in genetic disease education and management and a national model of service to
individuals affected by genetic disorders. Our commitment to bringing quality services to
individuals with sickle cell disease and their families remains our foundation.
