an individual or corporation can contribute financial support to the SCDFC. Aside from the traditional method of writing a check once a year,
consider the other options that are also available. Each of
these methods are explained in further detail below.

There are also ways you can contribute to the SCDFC without
spending any money. You can:

the Community Contribution Program
- Shop at Albertson's with a
SCDFC Community Partner's Card
- Donate your unwanted car or boat

Workplace Giving Program
- Through your
workplace giving program you can
designate a specific dollar amount to be donated directly to the Foundation. We are
a part of the
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC),
Combined Health Appeal (CHA) and United Way Donor Designation Campaign.
Matching Gifts
- Many companies match the charitable contributions of their
employees. You can double the impact of your generosity by
using your company's matching gift program. Visit your human
resources department and ask for a matching gift form.

Planned Gifts
- You can choose to remember the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation in
your will, estate plans or other planned giving program.
Planned gifts can be made through
- Bequests, wills, living trusts or other
non-charitable trusts
- Charitable Trusts

collectibles
- Remainder interests in residences, commercial
and real property

Honor & Memorial Gifts -
Gifts in honor of or in memorial of an individual can
be designated by the donor for a specific program, service or
activity of the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California. Common
ideas are to fund educational opportunities/scholarships for persons
with sickle cell disease, to establish new programs or to enhance
currently existing programs.
In kind Giving Opportunities
- Many times the Sickle Cell Disease
Foundation of California is called upon to assist families in need,
especially during the holiday season and for Camp Crescent Moon.
Donations of the following items
listed would allow
us to use our funds to support the programs & services of the SCDFC.
- Toys, Games, Books, Craft Items
(new)
- Gift Certificates - movies, book & music stores, markets &
fast food, department stores
- Children's Clothing - particularly jackets and other long
sleeved tops, pants (new or barely used)
- Sheets, towels and bedding

Register your Ralph's Club Card
- When you register your
Ralph's Club Card in the Community
Contribution Program. the Foundation can receive up
to $3600 per quarter just from our members buying groceries. Each
time you shop at Ralph's and swipe your card, the SCDFC starts
earning a rebate.
Albertson's
Community Partner's Card - With the Albertson's
Community Partner's Card the Foundation can receive up to $1800 a quarter
just from our members buying groceries and it does not cost the user one cent! You can
participate in this easy fund-raiser too!
The way it works is:
- We send you a card with our name on it and it
can be used at any Albertson's
store
- You present the card to the cashier before your
order is processed
- Your purchase amount is automatically
recorded and credited to the SCDFC's fund
- At the end of each quarter, all transactions by
our members using the card will be totaled and Albertson's will
send us a check
- It's that simple!
Donate a vehicle - Donating a vehicle is easy through the
National Charity Support
Foundation, you gain tax benefits and you help the SCDFC.
- Just call (800) 203-2940
- Inform them you want to donate your car to the Sickle Cell
Disease Foundation of California
- Your car will be picked up at your location
- You get a receipt
- You deduct 100% of its fair market value from
your income
