Important information for persons with sickle cell disease and providers:

Individuals with sickle cell disease may be eligible for a state insurance program called the Genetically Handicapped Persons Program (GHPP).  The GHPP is a state funded program which coordinates care and helps pay for medical costs for persons with sickle cell disease.  Anyone who is 21 years of age and older and who is a resident of California may apply.  Those under 21 may receive care through the California Children Services (CCS) program.  To apply please call the GHPP at (916) 654-0503 or (800) 639-0597.

Note: this is a partial listing of physicians:  There may be other physicians providing medical care to adults with sickle cell disease who we may not be aware of.  To recommend other physicians please contact the SCDFC at (310) 693-0247 or send an email to info@scdfc.org
